[2259] The Underground

Meredith:

I glance back at Ettie darkly.

How did he know I had a brother?

Was my initial thought as clearly he was not him.

My brother died a very long time ago..

"Thanks for the heads up."

I respond numbly not really sure what to do now.

Sebastian:

Meredith seemed disturbed but I was not sure what to say. Desmond should be enough to deal with a stalker even if its a vampire. I would hope.

(Ettie): "S..sorry again.." She said nervously before back stepping and looking down the hall.

(Morgain): "Ettie stay by me please." He said in a sing song voice before addressing me. "Good afternoon sir.."

Did I sleep that long...

I cant even look at Meri, how embarrassing.

"Is it now...where does time fly.."

(Morgain): "The city is on lock down right now, would you need a exsort home miss or are you a guest?"

Meredith:

"An escort home would be greatly appreciated."

I smile hoping I can get ahold of Desmond and talk to him about all this.

I glance over at Sebastian but he seemed to be avoiding me.

I look down awkwardly not knowing what to say to him in front of the others that would not come across as.. inappropriate.

Morgain:

Ephraim was NO where to be seen!

I can not believe he up and left I really thought he'd finely be a help us since his look alike was dead.

But no he probably went off back to slumming the underdeveloped worlds...and redheads..

I return from looking for him in vain to find Ettie run off again.

She was with our absent King and Miss Sulez.

((Carry stopped a bomb with THE parasites but one jumped in his eye! He cant treat you now and went home, but I have another idea to help you!))

I fill him in without upsetting the human.

"I'll get you our best."

I summon not a lowly officer because I went to that station and they were ALL incompetent and sketchy. But the Hand of the King I am sure is not compromised.

I look one more look at how off Bash looked and really have my doubts.

(Sebastián): ((..I can wait..for him to come back no need....))

I give him a 'don't trust me look' as he turns away to say goodbye to Meredith.

(Sebastian): "Thank you for the company at the party, hopefully next time Desmond can make it though I cant say I didn't enjoy having you all to myself..."

*kisses her hand*

I think wishing he would not peruse her like this. Starting a love tringle with a trident is dangerous. One bite... and its... ..all over. Desmond knew it too we gave away the secret to kill Raginbar.

Tamsin shows up to take her home and gives her a respectful bow. They were at that dreadful station together.

(Tamsin): "The carriage is ready." He says not wanting to interrupt the moment but it was too awkward to watch.

Meredith:

Sebastian wishes me farewell when arrangements for my return had been finalized.

I blush pink in response to his rather direct choice of words, especially after last night.

I need a very long cold shower...

I turn away from him unable to breath let alone speak a response in reply.

A familiar face comes to escort me home and I follow after him not wanting to take any more of his time than need be.

Tamsin:

I am rushed out of my work to escort Meredith Sulez home for fear of a infiltrator in our mist.

The curfew is in effect and a citywide search left no leads to anyone from the attacks being here.

It was all very depressing and the more time wasted not getting to the answers the more I will be criticized about it.

I am GLAD no one can see my eyes behind my stolen Boren sunglasses as I look quite shocked at the scandalous moment of intimency (yes this is scandalous to Danite court)

I look back at Bash believing him to have LOST HIS MIND.

(Morgain): "There is a gathering in the plaza that needs your attention..."

(Bash): "Lets not keep them waiting then.."

"My lady..this way."

I get the carriage door for her and then get in while the driver readies the route. The streets were as quiet as you could get them.

"I did have a short question if you do not mind Meredith." I hesitate.

"There was a women that approached you and Bash. I checked all leads and did not find her among legitment guests, is there any information you can give us to find her? "

Meredith:

Once in the carriage Tamsin asks me a question regarding the woman who approached Bash and I.

At first, I could hardly recognize her, but now, I knew exactly who she was.

"Her name is Jem, she works for Boron."

I sigh and press my head against the carriage window.

"She was Beolan's drug dealer for a time.."

I admit finding this memory particularly painful.

Beolan came to me at a time where I had absolutely no one. I was sent to the alpha base (or what was meant to be the alpha base) all alone. No one came after. 

For the first couple of years I was in complete solitude learning everything I could from scratch and scattered memory. I came from a middle class family so living off the land was never something I considered or was expected to retain. There were several days I went hungry, experienced extreme nights of hyperthermia and of course suffered injuries which somehow I recovered from.

Beolan found me. I don't know how but it was a miracle. I could hardly believe he was real at first, like maybe I was hallucinating and it was all a dream. I did hallucinate a lot during my time in solitude, mostly of my father providing me with encouragement but that was a story for another time.

During the course of our relationship we became very good friends Beolan and I and how could we not be? He not only saved me from complete and utter abandonment but also helped me discover what happened to my family and fight for them, I mean really fight for them and everyone else who was ruthlessly slaughtered by Boron's men.

Nothing could have been more liberating in that moment. But then, one day, Beolan returned from a mission gone wrong and when he did.. he was different and that was when my world went dark. Very dark..... I was beat, hurt.. by my best friend and things.. only escalated from there.

A single tear ran down my face but I wiped it away quickly.

"If you need gate coordinates for where they used to meet I can provide them, or later at the meeting if you could like?"

Tamsin:

I sense this was difficult talk but appreciated truly any further information I could gather together as all leads are cold.

"Thank you that is more then what I had to work with so far..yes please.."

I give her my tablet to record on and glance back out the window as we neared her apartments.

I see some Peacekeepers near by and all looked quiet.

"There was a break in attempt last night as well..two masked men had attacked two roomates. We can assume came from the party and cold have been involved with this Jem. "

I hesitate to say the girls did not make it..

Meredith:

I take the tablet and write down what I remember of the gate coordinates before squeezing his hand sincerely.

"Thank you for looking into this."

I did not envy his position should he be successful in his search efforts.

My attention was soon drawn away by the rough neighborhood which was my.home.

It looked horrible.

I panic at the thought of Russia and recklessly jump out of the carriag to run to the building and find her.

Tamsin:

I give Meredith a small RARE smile breaking my stoic composure.

"I will do my best." I vow to her taking it seriously. I really needed someone to give me a chance after Master Constantine's lecture.

Minding this city was so unlike my last station at the Bloodwatch I felt little prepared.

She rushes off at the sight of her building's state.

I stop by the Peacekeeper station to speak to some of the officers again regarding what very little we knew.

"Dorian will you come with me please?"

I decide to split up the usual partners as it seemed unproductive with Dorian and Loki always together. Among others that seemed more loyal to one another then to me.

As we go to seek out an old human wormhole device I watch the man closely sensing his discomfort being with me for this.

This planet was 'City Love' since Boren's demise it was raided countless times by many scourges of the galaxy, pirates', scavengers, trafficker.

The women that remained were very violent to anyone who came near them now from all they have survived. I was not expecting to find much here of this 'Jem' if this planet is no longer a overlord hotspot.

Once we reach it spears fly at us.

I set my gun to stun not wanting to fire upon them but if I must I must.

I run quickly. My sunglasses disturb many of them so I take them off.

"We are here looking for a women named JEM. If you know anything please speak and we will go."

I catch another blade and tell Dorian to try his blonde hair and simple looks may be enough among the angry females.

I survey the charred grounds of this former city and its squalor.

Dorien returns with some females who wish to come to the Starker city but he has no word of this Jem for me.

"Let us return.."

I sigh defeated yet again, slowly growing tired of this. I was a warrior and it was wasted in this slow slow process.

**Dorien DID find a message from Jem from one of the girls but does not want to share it with the hand of the King before he takes it to Master Klaus.

He finishes his shift and then passes it along to another in their ranks who will take it to the Underground unfollowed.

Everyone is being watched close and they are very careful.

The message from Jem is 'too the person who is really in charge of this sorry planet' as she knows Bash is far to sick and probably has forgotten her words.

The message is almost word for word what she told him and Meredith - one week ot flee the planet or it will be smoked out by a turned evil Beolan - but she in this message to the 'unseen' figure puts a heavy empatheis on Bash being incapacitated and out of his mind.

Sebastian:

After addressing some concerned subjects in the plaza, who were near riot really I felt all too drained to do anything else without snapping. Deep ANGER internalized, dare I let it get to the surface.

"Blythe is not to leave the tower! I don't want to see her! I don't care if she told you to give me her apologize. I refuse it."

Morgian gets me alone to offer me another treatment in replacement to Constantine's.

I look at what he offered in horror, the crystalline eye of Myra that used to be on the trophy wall.

"Why would you even bring that here!" I steam exasperated at him.

(Morgain): "...its not the worst thing I brought here..."

.... what...

I twist the golden necklace around my fingers looking at the eye.

(Morgain): "It can separate pieces of you, and if you could separate out the cursed part, entrap it.. .maybe..you could be as you where before..."

"I don't think that's possible." I comment of the last part. Unless I wipe my memories.
I just found it enraging to think as they were wiped so many times before to prevent this. I did not want to live like that to stay sane.

I give the necklace back, he had covered the eye with a golden cog to appear to be a mere jewelry statement piece that I could wear.

"I dont want to ... shard my mind anymore then it already is thanks to your King." I shove it into his hand and turn away trying to not go off on him.

Preparing for the meeting I was reminded of by one of my timekeepers

I forget all about what that nurse said and send a invite to my good buddy Klaus with no ill intent in mind.

Klaus:

I manage through brute force and persuasion to obtain a secondary location for the precious moonstone which we were so sorely lacking.

Unfortunately for this one, he did not survive in the end.

I exit the cellar covered in blood to be met with a message from our scandalously ravenous king, who I believed until a day ago to be of true and noble character.

Russia PROMISED me that she would be delivering my sweet impressionable sister tonight as to avoid any further advances on his part.

It remains a mystery whether his actions are adversary or just plain moronic.

I take off my gloves and throw them in the fireplace of my study out of frustration and annoyance.

"Well, out with it then!"

I snap at the messenger.

(Vampire) "There is a meeting being held tonight by the King. You have been cordially invited."

Tonight?! As though he assumes I have nothing else going on??? No doubt he has requested my sister's attendance as well! THAT SMUG BASTARD!

I try to consider my options here. As to not attend may come across as suspicious prior to Meredith's capture, but to attend would force further interactions between us therefore, once again placing me in an unfavorable light.

I will have to cause a scene drawing some distance between us that much is certain.

"I will attend.. is that all?"

(Vampire) "Actually sir, something else just came in.."

They give me a look which conveyed it best I read it myself.

I take the handheld device from them and see that the message was from one of our undercover operatives. It was with respect to Boron.

I curse.

The timeline for our destruction was shorter than I first imagined and mention of Sebastian only further fueled my anxiety of having him anywhere near Meredith. Boron acted through the Starker last time in an effort to destroy her, he would most definitely act through Sebastian to finish the job!

I forward the message to Joseph asking for a status update on the stone.

Time was running out!

I strip out of my blood soaked clothes and change into clean ones in anticipation of tonight's affair.

*****slight time skip******

I arrive at the front steps of where the meeting was to be held.

To my surprise and without warning, Meredith approaches me.

A foolish attempt on her part as there were hardly enough witnesses to save her should I change my mind.

(Meredith) "What do you want!"

She snaps at me.

She looked like she had been crying which threw me off guard.

I fake an awkward look instead.

"My apologies, I presume you are referring to the other night? My partner and I were quite.. drunk with the night's festivities."

Quite drunk indeed..

"I don't remember half the foolish shit I did but I do recall possibly making a pass or were you the one I was declaring to be my sister?"

I consider all possible scenarios of what could have been said to her as her aggressive approach seemed to be in response to something more than our brief period on the dance floor.

(Meredith) "I don't believe you."

My eyes flash back at her as I was so very tempted to compel her. Perhaps my lies through her mouth would be more convincing?

I decide against it.

"You look upset."

I change the subject.

"Did you not enjoy your night with the King?"

Meredith's face goes beat red as my voice carried to set the stage for an alternate scenario should questions arise regarding her disaperance.

I leave her on the steps in her own embarrassment before heading inside and making my presence known among the other attendees while showing complete disinterest in my sister when she eventually comes back into scene.

Violet:

I frown wishing I could warn Maud but she does not mind talk. I think this boy does though.

((Hey she is blind from being really sick ...dont pick on her... you can get me back later.))

I say to him with a frown before going over to the puzzle table. Gideon was the oldest here even still with the new one. But he was far to peaceful to get into all that. He was blind from the war.

He continues to do the puzzle. Stacking logs on top of one another with feeling to enrich the mind.

(Lizzie): "Echo do you want to see your room now?" She calls up. "or are you still making friends."

*cough* "Making trouble!"

Echo:

I make a face at the one with the mouth before taking the adult up on her offer.

"Fine what's in there?"

I fly over boldly.

Lizzie:

"Your things?"
I tease a little and was a little taken back by his wings when I see them.

The antic did have a nice view.

"You can see the whole city from up here...its quite impressive when the sun hits the glass ceiling. But its night now.. "

I sigh a little missing seeing the sky.

"Clearly you are unhappy here and I'm sorry about that..."

Echo:

She tries to sell me on my room.

A view of the sky did excite me though..

"Ok let's go see!"

Lizzie apologizes and I blink back in response.

"Ok."

I did not know what to say to that.

Lizzie:

The poor boy seemed to be going threw alot right now.

"Goodnight, let me know if you end like seeing that sunrise view in the morning ok?"

By the morrow I was very busy with the day. There was no travel due to the trouble in town for me to send off a child to get fresh produce and vitals so the breakfast was very meager for the children with only eggs.

Around noonday Domenic comes with doughnuts for the children and a message for Echo.

*insert Joe's message for Echo here promising him a 'special souvenir' as he was on the way home*

There was a side note asking if we had a pool?

(Domenic): "No idea..I'm already holding one creature for him.."

"Huh?"

(Domenic): "Figure of speech.."

*Domenic misheard Klaus and kept the monsters. He chained them in the sewers and only told Russia it was Klaus's wish to keep them and feed them. Trying to bribe her to help to impress Klaus.
He has been trying not his cover at the station keeps him busy*

Echo:

I overslept the following day and missed the sunrise along with breakfast.

I wasn't missing much.

Around noon I receive a message from dad.

"He is so weird.."

I say out loud embarrassed at the attention.

I really hope it was something cool and not a water floatie.

I think to myself before leaving to go harass the girl I later learned to be "Violet".

Dominic:

(Lizzie): "Tell me your kidding..."

"Of course."

Joseph's crazy. I'm not going to make a pool just because he told me too.

then again we could keep those TURTLE monsters tied down at the bottom....


Violet walks over and grabs a doughnut.

(Violet): "Hi Uncle Nic hows it going?"

"We're almost at war.." I say dryly to the girl munching away.

(Violet): "Sounds legit."

She senses the newcomer approaching.

(Violet): "Hey kid I heard your dad bought you a unicorn fish...what do you call em?" She gestures to the oldest one here who did not do well in the last war to be blinded.

(Gideon): "..a narwhale.."

Echo:

I look back at the blindies embarrassed.

"A what?"

That sounds stupid! What am I going to do with one of those?!

Gideon:

I can sort of blurry see the outline of the new kid. He was just little brat basically. Too bad I thought we could get along since I'm not a orphan either.

His dad seemed to care alot more then mine.

"You really complaining about a pool and a pet?" I look down at him since I'm much taller.

Echo:

"Ya I am!"

I look up at the tall one annoyed.

I don't want a pool pet I want dad! ;(

*Shoves Gideon, trying to pick a fight.*

Little Violet:

I look around hoping the adults were gonna be too busy with the whole 'build a pool within 24 hours' thing to notice.

"Fight fight fight!" I get the others going. Its exciting. I crave violence.

*little fist in the air*

(Gideon): "I'm not fighting this twerp.." *I HEAR him eat a doughnut angrily instead*

(Maud): "Lisssseee there is brutaley-tee goin onn!!"

She narcs on us all as they come back inside.

Little Echo:

Twerp?!

I don't know what that means but it sounds bad!

*Spear tackles the tall one before shoving his own donut in HIS FACE.*

Little Maud:

I don't know what the new boy did but everyone was making a fuss and 'ooo' ahhh' ing!

Who knew so many of my classmates were so BLOODTHRISTY

I hide and eat a doughnut away from the mob chanting 'fight fight fight'

(Dominic): "Stop it! Do you want a tour of the jail cell!?" He bLAmeS Gideon tugging him away.

(Lizzie): "Echo do I want to know what happened?" She asks tiredly

Little Echo:

We are pulled apart before I could FINISH HIM

The other boy gets the blame and so he should!

Lizzie then asks what happened and I shrugged faking innocence.

She doesn't need to know..

"When is dad coming back?"

I question.

Dominic:

How does this kid get into trouble with BLIND CHILDREN.

I frown already never wrecked from the hybrid monsters Klaus WANTED me to keep.
Now we we're hiding sirens? Why cant Klaus just put a zoo down there. Hiding vampires AND extra secrets to boot.

(Lizzie): "Your father said to have the pool ready by tomorrow evening so I assume then." She answers none to pleased about a pool.

I dont want to burden her with the turtles too, its a SHAME we cant put them both in the same pool but I'd reckon the turtle would eat the siren.... or the other way around.

"Yep like it or not kid, your getting a pet. Maybe it'll be the new mascot."

I tease. Not sure Klaus will like such a girly symbol for the group though.

(Maude): "Can I feed her fish crackers please please!!"
She begs Echo excitedly.

Little Echo:

Ugh..

I fold my arms in annoyance at the lot of them INCLUDING little Maud.

"Fine! WHATEVER!"

I don't even know what narwhals eat ANYWAYS.
