Professor Forysthe, who took part in it for revenge was chasing the children down but stopped from shooting when he saw the blonde twins appeared to to have a psychic connection with one another. He took them home secretly for study. Young Frizzle befriend the children and the professor tried to educate the 'blonde neanderthals ' with reading and writing. The boy liked fairy tales and mythology and wanted to be called Midas. The girl kept her name and enjoyed science and mathematics. Midas and the professor didn't get along and fought alot. He tried to teach them how to master their minds though meditation and practice. Midas snuck into the Professor's lab to look around and found remains of blonde giants the professor had cut up to study, one head in a jar was is mother. He was caught by the Professor and ran away.
Midas's Life
After running away Midas snuck on a train to travel out of town. Midas used his gift to avoid being captured and killed by all the varies hazards of being a lone blond child. He would eventurely became the slave of Mr. Baudelaire. As a young man Midas continued to act out and got beat by his master. It still did not break his lively spirt. After the marriage of Niklaus Baudelaire, Midas's new owner became Olaf Sulez. Back in town Midas got to see his sister and Frizzle again. He accompany Niklaus to Elgatha Mikaelson's witch house and got trapped inside. He struggled to understand what he saw and solve the mystery of all the strange happenings. Midas was followed around by a much taller slave named Bain. While sneaking out to go back to the Professors house for a book on witches he was struck by Oalf's carriage. While healing from a broken leg he was given housework inside. Ester Budelaire gave him kitchen work.
Canary's Life
Canary was very sad after Midas ran away and bonded to Frizzle who was a bit older but still cared for her like a sister. She continued her studies both academically and with her mind. Frizzle went off to boarding school leaving her alone with the Professor. While working on experiments to broaden thought he electrocuted himself and split his mind three ways. Canary is the only one who knows he is 3 different people. He became a recluse hermit by the time Frizzle came back. They fell into debt building up and had to let go of the staff. Canary dresses in costumes pretending to be a butler, a maid, a gardener and a footman driver so they don't look poor. She is a true actress and can take on multiple roles and go on tasks for Frizzle or the Professor. Frizzle became a librarian to make some extra money and Canary lives in the little loft above carrying on her self education. She disikes Frizzle's bookclub finding the fetishing of blonde giants disgusting. She will sometimes prank the ladies involved. She decoded a message of help in the letters of Mr. Westen's fiancé, but no one took it seriously. Midas came back to town with his new master and Canary found his mind deeply troubled. She went out to check out the witch house that troubled him so and found no clear logical answers for what was going on.
